Havana, August 17 (RHC) -- The member of the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, called on Friday for an end to interference in Venezuela.

From his account on X, the foreign minister pointed out that, as he warned the day before, an interventionist resolution was imposed on the sister Bolivarian country in the Organization of American States (OAS).

“That organization, which supported coups d'état, dictatorships and did not condemn invasions by the United States (US) in the region, lacks the authority to urge our countries to submit to spurious mandates,” he said in his message on the social network.

Rodriguez denounced these attempts by the OAS to impose a resolution on the electoral process in Venezuela.

According to the head of Cuban diplomacy, the document issued maintains the same interventionist character as the previous attempts at a resolution on the subject.

He also urged to refrain from promoting actions that generate instability and violence in that nation.

OAS member countries discussed another resolution in which they again ask the National Electoral Council to deliver the official results of the last elections of July 28, an independent review of them and to stop the alleged violations of human rights in Venezuela.

On Friday, the Permanent Council of the OAS adopted the resolution without an open vote.

The non-binding text was presented on behalf of the United States and Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Suriname and Uruguay as co-sponsors. (Source: ACN)
