Havana, August 27 (RHC)-- Another group of specialists from the Cuban Electric Union (UNE) arrived in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines the day before, and will provide services as part of a new stage of cooperation between the two Caribbean nations.

According to the news agency API, these are linemen who will help in the reconstruction of the energy distribution networks of the islands known as the Southern Grenadines, severely affected during the recent passage of Hurricane Beryl.

The technicians were received at the airport by the head of the San Vicente electric company (Vinlec), Vaughn Lewis; the Minister of Human Development, Benarva Browne, and the Cuban ambassador here, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez.

On August 14th, three Cuban engineers from UNE also arrived in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines with a similar purpose and in the context of an agreement between Vinlec and the Cuban Electrical Engineering Services Company.

On that occasion, the island's diplomat encouraged the professionals to work hard and stay focused and disciplined, while expressing his confidence that they will contribute a lot to this brother nation.

He reiterated that Cuba maintains solid relations of friendship and cooperation in this Caribbean nation, especially after the impact of Hurricane Beryl, which caused so much destruction recently.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
