Cuban Foreign Ministry celebrates 49th anniversary of relations with Cape Verde

Havana, September 5 (RHC) The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the island’s relations with Cape Verde this Thursday, through a message on the social network X, and ratified the will to continue strengthening the ties of brotherhood and cooperation between both nations.

For almost five decades, Cuba has contributed to the training of dozens of Cape Verdeans in different specialties, in addition to providing cooperation in various sectors, including sports and health.

The African nation, meanwhile, has supported the island in the presentation at the United Nations of the annual report on the damage of the United States government blockade.

In 2020, the Caribbean country sent collaborators from the Henry Reeve international contingent of specialized doctors to support Cape Verde in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2022, both States signed a statement on collaboration in education and health, with actions in technical assistance and exchanges in early childhood education, and care for children, adolescents and young people with special educational needs, among other matters. (Source: Prensa Latina)
