Cuban foreign minister in New York for high-level UN debate

The new session of the Assembly began on September 10, two weeks before the high-level segment that will take place at the United Nations headquarters in New York

 

Havana, September 20 (RHC)-- The Foreign Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, arrived today in New York to attend the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations, where he will denounce the impact of the blockade imposed by the United States on the island.

The highest representative of Cuban diplomacy reported in X that during his stay, he will promote multilateralism, peace and sustainable development for all nations.  Bruno Rodríguez explained that he will participate in the Future Summit and the 5th National Meeting of Cubans Resident in the United States.

The new session began on September 10th, two weeks before the high-level segment that will bring together more than 150 world leaders at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the 22nd and 23rd of this month.

At the opening ceremony, outgoing President of the UN General Assembly Dennis Francis handed over the iconic gavel that announces the start and end of sessions to Philemon Yang, former Prime Minister of Cameroon  (Fuente: Prensa Latina).
