Scientific conference improves the work of courts in Cuba

Havana, Oct 11 (RHC) Issues that are on the fastest path towards the improvement of judicial activity in Cuba will be discussed by several experts in the field at the 17th National Science Conference on Justice and Law this Friday in Ciego de Ávila.

Professionals and students from the courts in Ciego de Ávila will also use the opportunity to pay tribute to Ernesto Che Guevara on the 57th anniversary of his death in Bolivia.

Yanay Pérez Obregón, President of the Court of Ciego de Ávila, said these opportunities correspond to the demands of the Supreme Court and the transition from that institution to the municipal courts, in search of new ways to provide justice and improve work on behalf of people.

This edition of the Conference addresses changes to substantive and procedural laws such as the Family Code, Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure Law, and the Code of Procedure.

The judges of Ciego de Ávila will present 13 speeches on fundamental issues related to the right to life as a fundamental constitutional principle; family violence in communication; legal-criminal protection for families; foster care for children in the province, civil liability resulting from crime, judicial control over provisional detention, among others.

According to Pérez, the results of the research will contribute to judicial practice and lead to change and transformation for the people. (Source: Trabajadores)
