Cuban president tours areas most affected by Hurricane Óscar

Guantánamo, October 23 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, along with Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, arrived in Guantánamo to see first-hand the progress of recovery in the territory, severely affected by the passage of Hurricane Oscar.

"We have been, since dawn, in the areas most affected by Oscar in #Guantánamo. The damage is so severe that it is overwhelming. Only the spirit of this people, with an admirable resilience, surpasses it. #FuerzaGuantánamo. You are not alone. All of #Cuba is arriving." The Cuban president expressed on his X account

In exchanges with the people of San Antonio del Sur, the president inquired about the progress of the recovery of vital services, spoke with residents about the experience of the hurricane and confirmed to everyone that the State and the Government, together with the Cuban people, are committed to recovery.

“You are not alone or abandoned.  Cuba is in your service,” he assured them.

Díaz-Canel is accompanied by several ministers and officials from Central State Administration Agencies, as well as by the main authorities of the province.
