Cubans living in Italy begin their sessions of meetings
Havana, Nov 16 (RHC) The 6th Meeting of Cubans Living in Italy begins today in the southern city of Bari, where the actions of the community in support of their nation will be discussed.
The event is attended by the Cuban Ambassador, Mirta Granda, and the consuls in Rome and Milan, Arasay D'Angelo and Marcos Hernández. Additionally, there is a large representation of associations of Cubans living in Italy.
The topics include the new measures adopted in Cuba regarding citizenship, migration, and foreigners, as well as an update on the provisions related to consular procedures. Furthermore, the meeting will explore the investment opportunities offered by the Antillean country to its compatriots.
The current situation of the island, which has been a victim of an aggressive policy by the US government, will also be addressed. This policy includes the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade, as well as the consequences of the inclusion of the country on Washington’s list of alleged sponsors of terrorism.
The attendees will evaluate the actions to counter these measures against the Caribbean nation. These actions include increasing efforts to disseminate, through all possible means, including social networks, the effects of this political and economic war. In addition, they will focus on disseminating the Cuban reality.
The meeting will also cover the damage caused by hurricanes Oscar and Rafael, as well as an earthquake in the eastern region. The delegates will discuss solidarity initiatives in support of those affected by these natural disasters.
The directors of the Cuban associations will present the social and cultural activities they have been involved in and those they plan to undertake in the future. These activities contribute to strengthening the ties between the peoples of both nations.
The delegates will discuss the text of a final declaration that will be released at the end of the meeting on November seventeen.
The meeting will conclude with the official call for the 17th Regional Meeting of Cubans Living in Europe, which will take place in Rome in 2025. (Source: Prensa Latina)
