Cuba reiterates support for UNESCO
Havana, Nov 16 (RHC) The Government of Cuba today confirmed its support for the global efforts of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the establishment of this organization, Cuba reaffirmed its commitment to UNESCO in the pursuit of peace. This was communicated through a statement on the social media platform X.
The statement also emphasized that Caribbean country will continue to uphold the principles and values of the organization, which was founded on November 16, 1945.
UNESCO is a specialized agency of the United Nations that aims to contribute to global peace and security through education, science, culture, and communication. The founding document, which was signed on that day, entered into force on November 4, 1946, and was ratified by 20 countries.
In 1958, the main headquarters of UNESCO was inaugurated in Paris and currently, the organization has offices in more than 50 locations outside of France. (Source: Prensa Latina)
