National Ballet of Cuba will celebrate Ibero-American Dance Day with the presentation of two books on the history of Cuban ballet

 

Havana, Dec 17 (RHC) The Ibero-American Dance Day will be celebrated next Saturday in Havana, with the presentation of two books related to the history of ballet in Cuba.

The anniversary has been celebrated annually since 2020 on December 21, the day of the birth of the legendary prima ballerina Alicia Alonso, as agreed upon at a special meeting of the foreign ministers of the Ibero-American countries.

According to the National Ballet of Cuba, the titles, both published by Ruth Casa Editorial, are Alicia, Ballet and Me AND National Ballet of Cuba: Seven Decades of Choreographic Creation, by Doctor Miguel Cabrera, historian of the prestigious company.

The presentation will be delivered by the Cuban writer, poet, ethnologist and National Literature Prize Miguel Barnet, and will take place at the Havana headquarters of the company, in Vedado. (Source: Prensa Latina)
