Havana, January 1 (RHC)-- Today, January 1st, commemorates the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. On January 1, 1959, the Cuban people came to power with the overthrow of the U.S.-supported dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista.
On New Year's Eve, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed on the social network X his gratitude to his compatriots for the heroism demonstrated "in the face of the barbarity of the economic war being waged against us."
"Let's remember the year that is ending, not for the obstacles and the shortcomings. Let's remember it because we all overcame it together."
