Havana, Jan 3 (RHC) The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, has condemned the ongoing impunity surrounding the genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government against the people of Gaza, resulting in the death of over 45,000 individuals so far.

In a statement released in X, Rodríguez stated that the invading forces persist in carrying out indiscriminate attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Gaza, including the deliberate targeting of dozens of healthcare facilities.

He referred to the casualties of the unequal and disproportionate conflict, which has claimed the lives of 45,581 people since October 2023, and emphasized that 1,570 of these fatalities were health professionals.

He also noted that the bombs of the Israeli Defense Forces have demolished 22 hospitals. These assaults on civilians, refugees, and medical facilities are in violation of international humanitarian law.

According to information from the United Nations, it is estimated that more than 70 percent of the victims were women and children, and the majority of those affected reside in poverty.

The prevalence of malnutrition and undernourishment among children, as well as the dire situation of the population in Gaza, continues to worsen due to the Tel Aviv-imposed blockade on food and medical supplies.

The Cuban government has reaffirmed its stance against the genocide, insisting that the United Nations Security Council must uphold its responsibilities and bring an end to Israel's impunity, which is openly supported by the White House. (Source: Prensa Latina)
