Havana, January 18 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel said this Friday in the eastern province of Las Tunas that we will strengthen unity to the extent that we all participate in the processes.

During the conclusions of his visit to that territory, the president urged that "everything we propose must have as a premise the question of how youth, women, men, the elderly and all the different sectors of society participate."

He confirmed that Las Tunas has been putting this concept into practice in some way, and it is giving results based on the knowledge of experiences for the transformation of a vulnerable neighborhood, an agricultural production center and other popular concerns such as water supply.

The president said that this province is focused on perfecting the ideological work of the PCC, "an objective that can only be achieved through good militancy, and that is guaranteed by conscious growth."

For his part, Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, urged to identify how much can be done from the political organization, from this incipient but fruitful "Task of the Great," and to have well-defined political and administrative processes so that both fulfill their purposes.

Díaz-Canel emphasized that it is necessary to defend the macroeconomic stabilization program and strengthen the appropriate relations between the state and non-state sectors, adhering to compliance with the law and the socialist social project that the Cuban Revolution defends.

He stressed the need for local development programs to really contribute to the improvement of communities by creating goods and services for the population, and not become an umbrella to favor a few.

During the tour, it was learned that among the main dissatisfactions of the population are still the high prices of products, especially those of first necessity.

In addition, the lack of cash and ATMs, the non-use or improper use of QR codes and banking, especially by the private sector, as well as non-compliance and delays in the standardized family basket.

The conclusions were preceded by contact with the population of Popular Council Three, in the Alturas de Buena Vista neighborhood, where the social transformation that is being undertaken there was confirmed; the visit to the pumping station of the El Rincón dam, to check the installation and commissioning of new electric pumps; and the exchange with producers from the agricultural production centre ‘Melanio Ortiz’, in Jobabo, in order to boost their yields in favour of feeding the people.
