This is not the first cyberattack on Cuban official accounts and websites

Havana, Jan 20 (RHC) The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that their account on the social media platform X had been compromised, as warned in a message on Facebook.

The message further emphasizes that any information posted on the @CubaMINREX account after 8:00 local time is not reliable.

In December 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also experienced a cyberattack on its systems. Previously, in July 2021, the official website of the Ministry of Mining and Energy had also been compromised.

The Cuban government strongly condemned and denounced the two incidents, viewing them as part of a broader communication campaign against the country.
