President of Cuba receives Turkish health delegation
Havana, Jan 22 (RHC) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel hosted a delegation from the Health Institutes of Türkiye, led by their director, Professor and Doctor Ümit Kervan, at the Palace of the Revolution on Tuesday.
During the conversation, the president emphasized that the arrival of the experts is of great importance for the Caribbean nation and serves as a continuation of the meetings during the official visit to Türkiye in 2022.
At that time, the Cuban delegation to Türkiye held a business conference with several Turkish organizations and reached an agreement with president Erdogan on strengthening collaboration in science and innovation, particularly in health and biotechnology.
The Cuban head of state recalled that since then, numerous meetings have taken place, and the visit of the medical delegation provides an opportunity to consolidate ideas and projects.
For his part, Ümit Kervan expressed that it is an honor to be in Cuba and to have a dialogue with the president.
In turn, the director of the Turkish Health institutions stated that the president of his country supports collaboration in scientific research and development with Cuba.
In this context, Kervan announced that the goal of the current visit is to foster collaboration between Türkiye and Cuba, particularly between their institutions and BioCubaFarma.
The Turkish delegation and the Cuban government discussed the potential in the fields of research, innovation, and biotechnology, which could lead to enhanced cooperation. (Source: Prensa Latina)
