Fires in California are the result of climate change

Havana, January 23 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said on his X account that U.S. President Donald Trump shows contempt for public health and well-being and for the fight against the increasingly serious effects of climate change.

An example of this is the recent withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

The "U.S. withdrawal from the WHO and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change demonstrates the current U.S. government's contempt for multilateralism, international cooperation and the well-being of humanity, in favor of its absolute commitment to large consumerist and predatory capital," wrote the head of Cuban diplomacy on the social network.

On Monday, Donald Trump signed executive orders ending U.S. participation in the World Health Organization (WHO) and its adherence to the Paris Climate Agreement.

UN agencies have highlighted the potentially huge negative impact on public health and efforts to curb global warming that U.S. withdrawal from these forums would have.
