Havana, Feb 17 (RHC) The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, and of Singapore, Vivian Balakrishnan, emphasized today the willingness of both governments to expand economic cooperation in diverse areas.
This was stated in the X profile of the Cuban top diplomat, who is currently on an official visit to Singapore as part of a tour of Asian nations.
According to Rodríguez, the meeting with his Singaporean counterpart was also a positive step towards further strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation.
In April 2023, Balakrishnan paid an official visit to Cuba, which was described by Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel as a momentous occasion that marks a turning point in bilateral ties.
On that occasion, the Cuban head of state emphasized the active involvement of Singaporean business representatives in Cuba, particularly in key areas such as the port management and operations of the Mariel Special Development Zone, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.
