Miami, March 8 (RHC)-- Saturday morning at 8:47 a.m., the Director of Radio Miami Today, Max Edgardo Lesnick Menéndez, better known as Max Lesnick, passed away at the age of 94.

In a statement issued by his daughter Vivian Lesnik, she said that Max "was a great fighter, who was linked to the destiny of Cuba since his early years of youth."

"His death was the result of a sudden, but regrettable illness, during which he never lost his horizon of an independent Cuba, without blockades, fair, democratic and participatory."

"He lived with that dream and with it he illuminated the path of his transition from life to the eternal dream."

Radio Miami Today is in mourning and extends its deepest condolences to his family and to all those who, throughout his life, without hesitation, understood the tireless Cuban, whose greatest aspiration was for Washington to respect Cuba's sovereignty and for its people to be the protagonists of its destiny.
