Havana, March 28 (RHC) The President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and Vyacheslav Volodin, the Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, co-chaired the second meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the two legislative bodies, which took place in the lower house of the Russian parliament.
According to Lazo Hernández, this collaborative framework is crucial in fostering cooperation between the two legislative bodies.
It also serves as a crucial platform for monitoring the implementation of agreements between the two governments and the consensus reached by Presidents Miguel Díaz-Canel and Vladimir Putin.
For his part, Volodin stated that the gathering provides an opportunity to participate in the enhancement of bilateral ties, rooted in the long-standing friendship between both nations.
In the context of his official visit, Lazo Hernández also had a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who emphasized that the visit is particularly significant in the context of the second meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the State Duma of Russia’s Federal Assembly and Cuba’s National Assembly of People's Power.
