Santa Clara, April 13 (RHC)-- More than 250,000 people are expected to gather in the Cuban province of Villa Clara to celebrate International Workers' Day, said Maglin del Sol, the top union leader in the province, on Sunday.

According to the union leader, the parade in the central province will be led by education, science, and sports workers, while civilian defense workers will close a march that aims to once again include representatives of the non-state sector and members of international solidarity brigades with Cuba.

As will be the case in all cities on the island, the day will be the culmination of various activities organized by the working class, including volunteer work, blood donations, community parades, and exchanges between union representatives to discuss challenges and challenges facing the sector, which is key to the country's development.

Julio Román Águila, provincial deputy director of sports for all, added that inter-union sports events, community street events, and the presence of athletic celebrities at various workplaces will be part of this year's festivities.

In addition, the awarding of the honorary status of Labor Hero of the Republic of Cuba, as well as various decorations and medals to outstanding workers, will be one of the most emotional moments before May Day.

Every year, Cuba celebrates International Workers' Day with massive parades in the country's main squares, attended by thousands of workers and hundreds of union representatives from other nations. This is a demonstration of international solidarity with Cuba and recognition of labor rights and the history of the labor movement in the country.
