Washington, December 18 (RHC-teleSUR) -- Many U.S. citizens back a change in their country policies toward Cuba, according to a poll conducted by Reuters news agency and pollster Ipsos and published Wednesday.

The survey, which was made before Obama's Wednesday announcement of efforts to restore diplomatic relations with Cuba, showed that fewer than 20 percent of U.S. citizens oppose establishing U.S. diplomatic relations with the Caribbean island nation.

More than 40 percent of the respondents were in favor of rapprochement, while some 39 percent said they were not sure.
