Quito, January 6 (RHC) -– A new Ecuadorian construction brigade has headed for Cuba to support housing projects underway in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, hard hit by Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
A communiqué by the Ecuadorian Defense Ministry explains that the brigade includes 25 military and civilian workers, who will support constructions works in Santiago during six months.
In the aftermath of Sandy, Ecuador sent military brigades that initially support the reconstruction of the Medical Faculty in Santiago, particularly the residential areas for 700 students from different nations.
The Ecuadorian Defense Ministry says that the initiative is part of South-South cooperation under the principle of solidarity.
