Havana, January 9 (RHC) -- Cuban President Raul Castro has described as atrocious the terrorist attack against the French publication Charlie Hebdo, which killed 12 people.

“I have known about the atrocious terrorist attack against the offices of the weekly Charlie Hebdo in Paris, which has caused fatalities and serious injuries. I ask you to extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims," the Cuban president said in a message sent to his French counterpart, François Hollande, diplomatic sources reported today.

Twelve people were killed and 11 others wounded when masked gunmen stormed the offices of Charlie Hebdo in Paris on Wednesday. The attack has drawn condemnation from across the world.
