Cuban Parliamentary Leader Defends Role of Regional Legislative Authorities

Havana, February 13 (RHC) -- The President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, on Thursday defended the role of regional legislative authorities.

During a meeting with the President of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, Wade Mark, Lazo stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary ties in strengthening the Latin American integration. He also described ties between Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago as excellent.

Mark, who arrived in Havana on Tuesday at the head of a parliamentary delegation, expressed his satisfaction with his visit. He also praised Cuba's cooperation with the Caribbean regional partners and highlighted the island's contribution to the fight against the Ebola pandemic in West Africa.

The Trinitarian delegation will remain in Cuba until Sunday, February 15th, fulfilling a packed agenda of meetings and visiting places of political, economic and cultural interest.
