Havana, March 11 (RHC) -– Cuba's Telecommunications Company ETECSA announced on Wednesday the re-establishment of direct communications between Cuba and the United States, initially for international telephone calls, in tune with an accord reached with the U.S. IDT Domestic Telecom Inc.
According to the announcement, the re-establishment of direct communications between the United States and Cuba contributes to offer better capabilities and quality in the connection between the people of the two nations.
The information follows a previous announcement by ETECSA on February 20th, reporting about the conclusion of negotiations with Domestic Telecom Inc. to sign a Service Accord for the Operation of International Telecommunications. At that point, ETECSA said in the announcement that they were waiting for the approval of corresponding U.S. authorities to implement the accord.
