Havana, May 6 (RHC) -– France is willing to support Cuba in its ongoing economic reform, according to French State Secretary for Foreign Trade, Tourism and the Diaspora, Matthias Fekl.

In statements to reporters, Fekl said this is one of the objectives pursued by the upcoming visit to Cuba by French President Francois Holland on May 11th.

The official said that a forum on economic issues and bilateral exchange will take place in the context of the presidential visit. In addition, Hollande will attend the inauguration of the new headquarters of the French Alliance in a centrally located building in Havana.

Fekl said that France is very interested in Cuban economic areas like tourism and construction, though they remain open to whatever opportunities that may arise.
