Havana, May 15 (RHC) -– As part of preparations to face possible earthquakes, Cubans launched the “Sismo 2015” exercise, aimed at strengthening the response capacity against high-intensity earth and sea-quakes.
In 2014, Cuba reported 5,799 seismic movements and 20 of them were perceptible, as reported by the National Seismologic Network.
As a prelude to the quake exercise, Cubans will carry out another drill over the weekend to strengthen the preparation against hurricanes, drought and other natural phenomena, as well as epidemics.
