Havana, May 21 (RHC-AIN)-- Cuban Deputy Health Minister Doctor Alfredo Gonzalez expressed his appreciation to the German company Otto Bock for a donation of state-of-the-art equipment for Cuban technical orthopedics.

At the ceremony for the 50th anniversary of the founding of an orthopedic laboratory, the deputy minister acknowledged the gesture of that entity, which also includes the supply of tools and accessories.

Hans Georg Nader, president of Otto Bock, which has spent several years working with Cuba, announced that cooperation also includes five projects, three of them in conjunction with the development program of the Cuban Health Ministry until the year 2021.

These projects include technology transfer, training, joint cooperation work in the attention to Cuban patients and patients of other countries through health tourism, and the installation and development of resources in the country.

The Cuba-German Democratic Republic Laboratory was created on May 2, 1965, and is currently directed by Guillermo Rodriguez.
