United Nations, May 30, (RHC), -- Cuba demanded at the United Nations General Assembly a global commitment with the development of young people as a way to construct a world with equality and progress, in its Friday session.
Yuniasky Crespo, first secretary of the Cuban Union of Young Communists (UJC) spoke at a UN high level event, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the World Action Program for Youth.
"The future of young people depends on our decisions. Let us respond to their needs. It is time to generate changes, to eradicate poverty and reach an economic and social growth," Crespo stated.
She asked for greater attention to the priorities of youth in the post-2015 sustainable development agenda, to be outlined by the UN member countries, for its establishment in September 2015.
Ministers, senior officials from the five continents participate in the special session of the Assembly, in which 60 speakers were inscribed.
