Havana, June 13, (RHC), - Salvador Valdes, vice president of the Cuban Council of State, arrived in South Africa Friday to attend the 25th African Union (AU) Summit.
Valdes, leading the island's delegation to the meeting of the continental organization, arrived in the "Oliver Tambo" International Airport in Johannesburg, and his first activity there was to pay tribute to Chris Hani, a South African communist leader murdered on April 10, 1998.
On Saturday, Valdes was slated to visit the Origins Center.
According to the Cuban delegation's schedule, Valdes will meet with Jessie Duarte, general assistant secretary of the African National Congress (ANC), and with Cuban collaborators in South Africa.
