Havana, July 2 (RHC) --- The workers of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNIC) presented a special recognition to Fidel Castro on the 50th anniversary of that institution, created by the leader of the Cuban Revolution in 1965.

The award was presented during a gala celebration on Wednesday, attended by the First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel.

Another recognition was given to the Cuban Revolution leader in another part of the world. The highest building of the city of Bloemfontein, capital of the South African province of Free State, has been renamed “Fidel Castro.”

This name-change of the property that belongs to the government, previously known as CR Swarts, shows the gratitude, affection and admiration South Africans feel for this man of universal stature.
