Tehran, August 24 (RHC)-- Iranian news media executives in Tehran expressed their willingness to strengthen ties of cooperation with Cuba in order to articulate new ways to counter Western campaigns against both countries.

During a visit to the main offices of the newspaper Tehran Times and the Mehr News agency, the Cuban ambassador to Iran, Vladimir Gonzalez, received many expressions of solidarity and interest in collaboration with Cuban media agencies.

During their meetings with the Cuban ambassador, Iranian professionals agreed on the need for both countries to work together to address the manipulation of the powerful Western media.

Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez briefed his hosts on the newly-restored diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States, and reiterated the need for Washington to lift the unjust blockade and return the Cuban territory illegally occupied in Guantánamo, as essential preconditions for normalizing links.
