Colombian Government and FARC-EP Praise Cuba's Support for Peace

Havana, September 24 (RHC)-- The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP) and the government of President Juan Manuel Santos thanked Cuba for its unwavering support for the Colombian peace process.

Speaking Wednesday at the ceremony for the signing of new accords between the Colombian government and FARC-EP, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos commended President Raúl Castro for the warm hospitality and the prominent role Cuba has played and continues to play in the Colombian peace process.

Meanwhile, FARC-EP leader Timoleón Jiménez expressed gratitude to Cuban Revolution Leader Fidel Castro, President Raúl Castro and the Cuban people for their solidarity and altruism.

The two sides also expressed gratitude to Norway, which along with Cuba has served as a witness and a facilitator of the peace talks, and also to Venezuela and Chile, which have accompanied the negotiation process.
