Cuba's Acting Foreign Minister Meets with U.S. Representatives

Havana, October 14 (RHC)-- Cuba's Acting Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina held talks on Tuesday with members of a delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Medina met with Democrat Cheri Bustos and Republican Rodney Davis, both from the state of Illinois. Previously, the Cuban diplomat also held talks with Republican Erik Paulsen, from Minnesota and Democrat Mark Takano, from California.

The talks focused on issues regarding the update of Cuba's economy, the island´s foreign policy and the current state of relations between Cuba and the United States. The acting foreign minister and the visiting U.S. representatives also addressed the current debate in the U.S. Congress on Washington's policy on Cuba and efforts to lift the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the island.
