Beirut, October 17 (RHC-PL)-- The Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca asserted Friday that his country would not depend again on just one market, not even when the US economic blockade is lifted.

Speaking to businesspeople from Lebanon and other Arab countries participating in the Cuban-Lebanese Economic Forum, held in Beirut, Malmierca offered full guarantees of security, seriousness and facilities to invest in the Caribbean nation.

He explained that in the new circumstances marked by the reestablishment of relations between the United States and Cuba, the island's priority is to continue diversifying the economic and trade relations with the rest of the world, including the Middle East nations.

“Under any circumstances, even when we achieve what today seems impossible in a near future, the lifting of the economic, trade and financial blockade of my country, we will depend again on just one market. Never again, we will depend on one market. We need to diversify,” he said.
