Geneva, October 19 (RHC)-- In Geneva, Cuba has called for a new and fair world order in the context of today's technology.

Addressing the 133rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Cuban Deputy Alberto Núñez questioned how it is possible to speak about democracy in today's digital era, when there is still an unequal world order that affects all aspects of human life.

The Cuban lawmaker stressed that the technological field does not escape the hegemony exercised by a few developed countries and the big information transnationals.

The Cuban delegate to the assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union reiterated that the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against the country hinders Cuba's access to funds, informational technologies, software, computer systems and applications.
