La Paz, October 28 (RHC)-- Bolivian President Evo Morales harshly criticized U.S. opposition to a UN General Assembly resolution, urging the lifting of Washington' blockade of Cuba, saying that U.S. President Barack Obama is failing to fulfill a pledge he made to the Cuban people to work toward the lifting of the obsolete blockade policy.

During a press conference in Cochabamba, President Morales said he expected the U.S. would have at least abstained from voting Tuesday at the UN General Assembly.

He said: “ At the Summit of the Americas in Panama, President Obama only wanted to show off, and so he made some concessions to Cuba, like the reopening of embassies.”

The Bolivian head of state reiterated his full support for and solidarity with Cuba and insisted on the need for the definite, unconditional lifting of the U.S. blockade policy toward the Caribbean state.
