Mexico City, November 9 (RHC)-- Mexico's Minister of Agriculture, Ranching, Rural Development, Fishing and Food, Jose Calzada, announced a working visit to Cuba heading a business mission following a cooperation accord signed with Cuba's Food Minister Maria del Carmen Concepción.
The two ministers signed the accord in Merida during the recent official visit paid to Mexico by Cuban President Raul Castro.
Mexico exports food products to Cuba valued at nearly 74 million dollars, while there is large potential to diversify agricultural exports to the island, according to the high-level official.
Minister Calzada said that Mexican entrepreneurs are interested in investing in Cuba, therefore the upcoming mission will contribute to a closer relationship between Cuban and Mexican industries.
The visit has been scheduled for November 26th to the 28th including meetings with authorities at the Cuban Food Ministry.
