Washington, November 24 (RHC)-- Republican congressmen and military veterans have asked the Pentagon to refuse from closing the prison camp run in the illegal Guantánamo Naval Base.

Representative Mike Pompeo and 15 fellow military veterans in Congress sent a letter to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, rejecting plans by U.S. President Barack Obama to close the Guantánamo prison camp and transfer detainees to penitentiaries on the U.S. mainland.

Pompeo, a Republican from Kansas, urged the Joint Chiefs of Staff to seek appropriate legal advice before following any executive order to transfer Guantanamo Bay detainees to the United States.
