Havana, December 7 (RHC)-- Cuban teachers paid tribute to Cuban Revolution Leader Fidel Castro, whom they have presented with the Estrella Martiana National Prize in recognition of his contribution to education in Cuba and in other countries around the world.
Cuban First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel received the award on behalf of Fidel, during Sunday's closing session of the 1st Conference of the National Association of Workers in Education, Science and Sports sectors.
Addressing the more than 300 delegates at the event, Díaz-Canel urged to improve education at all levels towards achieving skilled professionals, who are also better human beings, capable of building the prosperous, sustainable and more just society we all want.
