Geneva, December 10 (RHC)-- Cuba has called to target and eradicate the root causes of today's world humanitarian crisis, as the best and only way to find lasting solutions.
Addressing an international conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Geneva, Cuban representative Anayansi Rodríguez insisted on the need to eradicate backwardness, underdevelopment, social exclusion, inequity, war conflicts and insecurity. She called instead to promote a new, more just and equitable world order based on solidarity and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.
The Cuban diplomat called to eliminate all forms of unilateral, coercive and punitive actions, which negatively impact the humanitarian situation in developing states. She added that conflicts should instead be resolved through dialogue, cooperation and inter-governmental exchanges.
