Cuban Parliament Will Discuss the Economy

Havana, December 10 (RHC)-- Cuba's economic performance in 2015 and the sector's prospects for 2016 will be the main focus of debate at the 6th Period of Ordinary Sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power, set for December 29th.

Cuban lawmakers will also debate the state budget for 2016 and will select non-expert judges to the People's Supreme Tribunal.

Prior to the parliament's plenary session, the 10th permanent work commission making up the Cuban legislative body will meet December 26, 27 and 28 to discuss these and other important issues.

In statements to reporters, the Secretary of the Cuban Parliament Miriam Brito Sarroca explained that the commissions will debate specific matters related to their field of work, as well as other issues of concern, among them corruption, illegalities, indiscipline, supervise and control of Cuban economic enterprises and entities.
