New York, January 20 (RHC)-- Cuba has called for strengthening the UN General Assembly mandate, calling it the main deliberation mechanism that groups each and every UN member state on an equal footing.
Addressing the first meeting this year of the General Assembly Revitalization Working Group, Cuban Diplomat Biana Leyva said the current process is key in reforming the world organization, as demanded by the international community.
She added that reforming the world body must inevitably lead to more democratic, effective actions and decisions, in full compliance with principles enshrined in the UN Charter.
