Tokyo, January 26 (RHC) -- Cuba's Minister for Energy and Mining, Alfredo Lopez Valdes, has called for expanded and strengthened cooperation between this country and Japan in the sector.
The Cuban official is currently on a working visit to the Asian country, during which he has held talks with Japanese officials, among them Tsuneo Kitamura, Head of Economy, Trade and Industry in the Japanese Parliament .
According to reports from the Cuban embassy in Japan, the Cuban minister for energy and mining also met with officials from the Japan International Cooperation Agency. The two sides reviewed existing cooperative projects in the field, signed in the framework of the Japan-Cuba Economic Conference and its energy subcommittee.
The Cuban minister also met with representatives of Japanese companies in the energy sector, and visited sites of interest in Fukushima and Ibaraki.
