Quito, January 26 (RHC)-- Cuban First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel, expressed hopes that the 4th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), to be held Wednesday in Quito, Ecuador, will contribute to strengthened integration among regional governments and peoples.
Díaz-Canel, who is heading the Cuban delegation to the CELAC summit, arrived Tuesday afternoon at the international airport of Quito. He was welcomed by Ecuadorian Minister of Culture Guillaume Long.
The Cuban vice president said that at the summit, Cuba will defend the foundational principles of CELAC, which he referred to as indispensable, legitimate, united and diverse.
