Camaguey, February 4 (RHC)-- Political and grass roots organizations in the province of Camaguey paid tribute to the work of the Institute of Friendship Among the Peoples (ICAP), for its work of international support in favor of Cuba against Washington’s economic blockade.
On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the institution, the Cuban Workers Confederation, Young Communist League, Federation of Cuban Women and the Culture Office of the province highlighted the role of ICAP’s work in favor of the release of the Cuban Five that suffered unjust prison terms for fighting terrorism.
During an activity in the eastern city, ICAP’s President Kenia Serrano Puig thanked the support of friends of Cuba in their fight for the return of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters and highlighted Fidel Castro’s 90 th birthday.
According to the Adelante website, she referred to Washington’s blockade against the Caribbean island which continues intact. Kenia stressed that nothing has divided the Cuban people and we will all be alive to see the end of the blockade.
Eduardo Almanza Gonzalez, representative of ICAP in the territory expressed the commitment to continue the work that they have developed for decades to break attempts of international isolation against Cuba.
During the ceremony, with the assistance of authorities of the Cuban government and Communist Party, recognized outstanding ICAP representatives and praised the work of Francisco Lopez Dominguez who has lead ICAP in Camaguey for the last 30 years.
