Luxemburg, Mar 15 (RHC) Associations of solidarity with Cuba urged in Luxemburg to eliminate the economic, commercial and financial blockade the US imposed on Cuba.
In letter sent to the US embassy, the organizations ask President Barack Obama to use his executive powers and limit to the utmost the enforcement of the laws instigating the blockade, and denounce the aftermaths of this policy on key sectors like healthcare.
The effects of the blockade also span to the US itself, the remittants stress, for its prevents its people from accessing medication the Cuban scientists have developed, like Heberprot-P, or the vaccines for lung cancer.
They highlight that despite the damaging effects of this policy, Cuba has developed a healthcare system that earned global recognition and its doctors, social workers and professors today share their knowledge in near 50 countries around the world.
