Delegation of 23 Congress People Will Accompany Barack Obama on Historic Cuba Trip

Washington, March 15 (RHC)-- A bipartisan delegation made up of 23 members of the U.S. Congress will accompany President Obama on his historic trip to Cuba, March 20th through the 22nd, EFE news agency has reported.

Members of the congressional delegation include Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and Republican Senator Jeff Flake.

US House Minority Leader Pelosi headed the first congressional delegation that visited Cuba in February 2015.

Other influential legislators accompanying Obama, include Steve Cohen, Barbara Lee and Jim McGovern, who have long advocated a rapprochement between the two countries.

The Senators, who will travel to Cuba include  Democrats Amy Klobuchar, Dick Durbin, Heidi Heitkamp, Tom Udall and Republican Jeff Flake, who along with Democrat Patrick Leahy, have tried to achieve a consensus in the U.S. Capitol towards a new era in U.S.-Cuba relations.
