Havana, March 18th (RHC) The prima ballerina assoluta of Cuba, Alicia Alonso, expects the visit of the US President, Barack Obama, will contribute to the lifting of the blockade against Cuba and said she would like to personally congratulate him for his courage.

Alicia Alonso said it would be great that young Americans could be trained as dancers in Cuba.

She said that the new chapter between the two countries should be built on the basis of unalterable dignity and sovereignty of the Cuban people. Alonso also stressed the importance of the process of normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States as a cultural bridge for the exchange of values related to artistic creation.
