Havana, April 6 (RHC)-- Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas met Tuesday in Havana with Geert Bourgeois, Minister-President of the Belgian Region of Flanders, who is here on a working visit aimed at strengthening cooperation ties.
During the exchange, Cabrisas and Bourgeois reviewed the state of relations between the European country and the Caribbean state, which they both termed as 'very positive'. The Cuban vice president further described as 'constructive' the role being played by Belgium in the context of relations between the European Union and Cuba.
He also expressed Cuba's appreciation for Belgium' traditional support for UN resolutions urging the lifting of Washington's economic blockade of Cuba.
The minister-president of the Belgian region of Flanders arrived in Havana over the weekend, accompanied by a large delegation made up of representatives from 26 companies from both, Flanders and the capital –Brussels-- in what constitutes the largest ever trade mission to Cuba from that European country.
The mission includes representatives from Belgian construction companies, which are taking the opportunity to attend Cuba's International Construction Fair this week here in Havana.
