Havana, April 12 (RHC)-- Mexican Ambassador in Cuba Juan José Bremen said the arrival in Havana of a sail training vessel of the Mexican Navy attests to consolidated relations between his country and Cuba.

During Monday's welcoming ceremony for the ARM Cuauhtémoc, the vessel captain Pedro Mata Cervantes said the Mexican crew and marines on board were conveying a strong message of friendship sent by the Mexican people to the Cuban people.

Upon their arrival, the Mexican visitors paid tribute to Cuban National Hero José Martí and to Mexican Hero Benito Juárez.

Regarded as a sailing ambassador for Mexico, the Cuauhtémoc is a frequent visitor to world ports, having sailed over 400,000 nautical miles (700,000 km) in its 23 years of service. The Mexican ship is open to the public Tuesday and Wednesday at the port of Havana.
